Teeth Sensitivity

teeth-sensitivity

Tooth sensitivity is a state of discomfort or pain that affects one tooth or group of teeth when eating hot, cold, sugary, sour or even breathing cold air or mouth. The pain may be severe, sudden or tingling towards the nerve of a particular tooth or a group of teeth.

  • 1
    Tooth allergies
Teeth become sensitive when the underlying layer of the tooth - the dentin - is exposed to external factors in the mouth as gum tissue recedes away from the teeth. Since the roots of the teeth are not covered with solid enamel, hot, cold or sugary beverages or foods can cross the ivory layer to eventually reach the tooth nerve, making you feel pain in your teeth.
  • 2
Factors that exacerbate the problem of tooth sensitivity include:
    • Brushing your teeth violently: Over time, brushing your teeth violently or brushing them with a toothbrush with rough or hard bristles may weaken the enamel layer on the surface of your teeth, which in turn exposes or detects the dents of the tooth. This process may also cause the gums to recede and recede away from the teeth thus exposing the roots of sensitive teeth.
    • Receding gums: When your gums recede and decrease due to gum disease, for example, the surface of the tooth roots becomes exposed and exposed.
    • Broken teeth: Breaking teeth leads to the accumulation of bacteria in plaque in the vacuums resulting from the fracture and thus makes it easier to reach the tooth nerve causing inflammation and irritation and accompanied by severe pain.
    • Grinding teeth: Grinding your teeth may weaken or remove the enamel layer from the surface of the teeth thus exposing the underlying layer of the tooth.
    • Use of teeth whitening products: Teeth whitening or using toothpastes containing sodium carbonate compounds and peroxide compounds is a major factor in tooth sensitivity.
    • Age: Rates of tooth sensitivity peak between the ages of 25 and 30.
    • Plaque buildup: Plaque on the surface of the teeth' roots causes allergies to the tooth.
    • Use of mouthwash: especially when using the wash frequently. The reason for this is that if your tooth ivory is exposed for any reason, be aware that some types of over-the-counter mouthwash containing certain acids may have a negative effect on worsening the problem of tooth sensitivity, as these acids increase damage in your tooth ivory. If you have dental allergies, consult your dentist about using natural solutions containing fluoride.
    • Acidic foods: Eating this type of food frequently (lemon, tomatoes, pickles and tea) erodes the enamel layer on the surface of the teeth.
    • Recent surgery: You may develop tooth sensitivity as a result of dental cleaning, nerve treatment, crown fitting and repair of damaged teeth. This type of tooth sensitivity lasts for a short time as it disappears within 4-6 weeks.

  • 3
What can I do to relieve toothaches?

    •  Oral and dental hygiene: Follow oral and dental hygiene guidelines using a toothbrush and dental floss to ensure that all parts of your mouth and teeth are clean.
    • Using a soft bristle toothbrush: This will help reduce brush contact with the surface of the teeth and help you reduce gum irritation. Make sure your teeth are gently brushed around the gum borders so they don't hurt the gum tissue supporting your teeth.
    • Use a medical toothpaste to ease the sensitivity of your teeth: there are many products available to treat tooth sensitivity. As you use one regularly, you'll notice that the allergy will gradually disappear. Your condition may need to try different types of toothpastes to treat your tooth sensitivity in order to find the best and most suitable for you. You can follow medical advice that indicates that you should put a layer of toothpaste that suits you on the roots of the exposed teeth before you go to sleep. Do not use lime toothpaste, but it is best to use fluoride toothpaste
    • Watch out for what you eat: Avoid eating acidic foods as these foods gradually dissolve the enamel layer, exposing the underlying tooth layer. It may have a negative effect on exacerbating the allergy problem and thereby increasing the pain of your teeth.
    • Use medicinal products that contain fluoride: Use of fluoride-containing mouthwash helps reduce the sensitivity of your teeth. Consult your doctor about the best types used at home.
    • Avoid grinding your teeth: If you have a problem grinding your teeth while sleeping, use a mouth protector.
    • Check with your dentist periodically: Make these visits to clean your teeth to give you important instructions and instructions about the health of your mouth and teeth, and to treat your teeth with fluoride every 6 months.

If you don't benefit from previous prevention methods and your teeth are allergic, talk to your dentist. Your dentist may perform a surgical procedure that will treat your dental allergies. As:

    • Use a white dental filling to cover and protect the surface of exposed tooth roots.
    • Fluoride exposed tooth root coating.
    • Use the night guard for exposed teeth.
